When Taylor Swift performed as a teenager, Lainey Wilson remembers that there was “hardly anybody in the crowd”
Lainey Wilson, a country music performer, has stated that she has been a fan of Taylor Swift since their shared teenage years, when they both aspired to be successful.
Given that Swift has been vocal about her admiration for Wilson’s style of country music, it’s actually a reciprocal appreciation of each other’s abilities.
During her tour at the Los Angeles premiere of the new disaster film Twisters on Thursday, the singer of Country’s Cool Again was touched to learn that Swift is one of her fans and that their respect has grown over time.
When she was around fifteen years old, I saw her play live at CMA Fest on the Riverfront stage.
“This girl’s future is bright,” I thought to myself when I was fourteen years old,” exclaimed Wilson, thirty-two, speaking highly of the then-rising star. And aside from my family and me, not many others were in the audience.

“And I got to tell her that,” Wilson continued. “There were, like, sixteen people there,” she exclaimed. “Well, we were four of them,” I responded.
After graduating from high school, Wilson, now 32, relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, from her birthplace of Baskin, Louisiana, in order to pursue a career as a country performer.
At the CMA Fest, the singer-songwriter was able to see Swift at that time.
Even though there weren’t many people in the audience, Swift’s performance inspired her to leave the festival.
Wilson previously discussed how, during an interview on the Zach Sang Show podcast, she was taken aback to discover that the 14-time Grammy Award winner was a fan of her work.
“I genuinely respect her,” I said to her. Wilson said to the host at the moment, “I think she is freaking awesome.”
The Yellowstone actress continued by expressing her admiration for Swift’s early career achievements and how she has managed to maintain her relationship with her millions of admirers worldwide.

‘I think she’s just a boss,’ the Never Say Never actor remarked, “but it’s just so cool to see how she’s done this.” This past year, I had the opportunity to witness her show, and I came away really motivated.
Since making her debut, Swift has put out ten more studio albums, which show her evolution from country to pop to country-pop to pure pop, as well as her recent interest in more folk-inspired styles.
In addition, she has rerecorded four of the six albums that were originally slated to be released in order to take ownership of her own music following her breakup with Scooter Braun, who bought her whole discography through Big Machine Records.
Wilson, who was influenced by Swift when she was a teenager, went on to release her self-titled first album on Cupit in 2014 and is currently getting ready to release Whirlwind, her fifth album, on August 23.

Another similarity between the two celebrities is that they are both now dating football players.
Wilson only recently revealed her relationship with 28-year-old quarterback Devlin Hodges, a former member of the Pittsburgh Steelers and LA Rams who currently plays for the Ottawa Redblacks in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Since September 2023, Swift and 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce have had a public romance.
Wilson’s current North American tour, Country’s Cool Again, which commenced in late May of this year, will go through December.
Swift will be touring with The Eras Tour until the end of August. After that, she will return to the United States and perform in Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis before heading to Vancouver, Canada, to complete the tour.
In March 2023, the Eras Tour made its debut in the United States.
