Kate Hudson is being open about taking a break from courtship.
The actress of Glass Onion revealed in a May podcast episode of “Call Her Daddy” that she took a “full year off” from dating men in her 30s, but it didn’t stop them from sending her direct messages.
On the Wednesday, July 17 broadcast of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, 45-year-old Hudson disclosed that during her year-long hiatus, she was approached by a “ton” of well-known guys.
When a viewer inquired about whether any celebs at the time attempted to “shoot their shot,” the actress said, “I mean, yeah.”
“Did anyone message you in your direct messages at that time?” Andy Cohen, the host, pressured Hudson even more.
“Oh yeah,” remarked in jest Hudson. “Well, it’s a fantastic way to meet new people and boost your self-esteem. As in, “Oh, that one got in there.” But I had a ton of direct messages. I had to go a year without flirting since I enjoy it so much. Yes, it’s finished now.
The musician Danny Fujikawa, with whom Hudson is engaged, initially talked in May about her year-long break from men. Hudson declared, “It was great,” on the podcast “Call Her Daddy.” “I reached a point where I decided I didn’t want to continue repeating any patterns.”
She continued, “I can help you, but you have to do it. My wonderful therapist said that.”
After three years of singledom, Hudson claimed that her hiatus from dating had helped her be ready for her relationship with Fujikawa, with whom she shares a five-year-old daughter named Rani. After starting a relationship in December 2016, the couple got engaged in September 2021.
Hudson remarked, “He’s such a lovely person, and his values are very sturdy.” “I believe that if I hadn’t taken those three years to simply be so happy in my life alone, I never would have allowed that in.”
Hudson previously wed Chris Robinson, a singer with the Black Crowes, in 2000 and 2007. Ryder, 20, is their son together.
Between 2010 and 2014, the actress dated Muse vocalist Matt Bellamy, with whom she was also engaged. Bing, Bellamy’s 13-year-old son, is Hudson’s child.
