The frontman of Bon Jovi posted a clip from the band’s “Story of Love” music video, which includes personal home films, the day after his mother passed away.

Carol Bongiovi, the late mother of Jon Bon Jovi, is being mourned.

The 62-year-old frontman of Bon Jovi tweeted a clip from the band’s “Story of Love” music video on Wednesday, July 10, which includes some of his own home footage.

The performer said, “Momma, We carry you with us Always ❤️❤️,” next to the heartfelt Instagram video. It features Bon Jovi singing and strumming his guitar in front of a wall adorned with pictures of his family.

The group’s 2020 album contains the poignant song “Fathers love daughters like mothers love sons / They’ve been writing our story before there was one / From the day you arrive, ’til you walk, ’til you run / There is nothing but pride, there is nothing but love.” Bon Jovi sings the chorus of the song.

The rock star’s social media homage was posted one day after his mother passed away at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey on Tuesday, July 9, three days shy of her 84th birthday.

After joining the US Marine Corps in 1959, she got to know Bon Jovi’s father, John Bongiovi, Sr., who would eventually become her husband. After growing up in Sayreville, New Jersey, they moved to Holmdel, where she lived until her death.

In 2020, Bon Jovi acknowledged that his parents had a significant role in his success during an interview with The Big Issue.
“If you believed you were good at your craft, you could work on it even if you truly weren’t,” he remarked. “As I got older I realized that was a great gift that I got from my folks.”

“They genuinely held John Kennedy’s dream of seeing the moon in high regard. Yes, you can travel to the moon without a doubt. Johnny, just leave. And I went there,” he said.
