Although Jennifer Lopez’s love is free, her divorce from Ben Affleck is not.
The 51-year-old actor from “Last Duel” and the 55-year-old superstar singer are reportedly moving forward with their divorce after a last-ditch effort at reconciliation in recent weeks was unsuccessful, according to friends who spoke with DailyMail.com.
Several sources have stated that the couple’s divorce papers “are finalized, but not yet turned in.”
On Wednesday, July 24, the day Lopez turned 55, Affleck purchased a brand-new $20.5 million “bachelor pad” mansion in the Pacific Palisades.
Affleck’s surprise bachelor pad purchase on Lopez’s birthday, according to friends, was a “stab to the heart.”
Days after the couple sold their Beverly Hills property for $68 million, he made his acquisition.
According to People, Lopez also completed the $23 million sale of her four-bedroom New York City penthouse on July 24.
One person close to the couple stated, “They finalized the divorce papers with her a month ago, but they’re waiting for the right time to drop them.”
At that point, they will jointly issue a statement expressing their deep love for one another and their attempts, but failures, to make their relationship work.
To be honest, they were never able to reach an amicable agreement. Another report asserted, “What they had before is gone, and they have both accepted it.”

The last time the two were seen together was on March 30. Since then, they have separated for the summer, with Ben staying at his Los Angeles home and Jennifer mostly on the east coast.
They even traveled to separate places on July 16th to celebrate their second wedding anniversary.
In May, rumors of Affleck and Lopez’s marital problems started to spread after people close to the pair stated Ben had moved into a $100,000 rental and the pair planned to sell their “dream home.”
The Brentwood home of Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner was only a short drive away.
The pair wed in 2005 and had three children together: Violet, now 18; Fin, 15; and Samuel, 12.
With five bedrooms, six bathrooms, breakfast and dining areas, a separate family room, a den, walk-in closets, a movie room, a powder room, and even a guest house, Affleck’s bachelor pad is more akin to a multi-million dollar home.
Cliff May was the architect who designed the house. Lopez sold a four-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom duplex penthouse.
After paying $60 million for their ideal home in May 2023, Lopez and Affleck are still looking for a buyer.
After Affleck and Lopez hadn’t been spotted together since late March, rumors about their marital problems started to spread in May.
“Ben already moved out and they’ll probably have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for,” a source said to In Touch at the time.
They will always be in love, but neither she nor he can make the other stop loving them. It could not have continued in any way.
Between 2005 and 2018, he and Garner, 52, were wed. Their children are Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12 years old.

Lopez thanked her 251 million Instagram followers for their messages with a mysterious post following her Bridgerton-themed party.
Lopez acknowledged that she was “fragile” and said that her followers were her “biggest gift.”
