This couple is great! Rose prepares to make Kit happy again
Kit Harington revealed on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon that he and his wife Rose Leslie are expecting their second child together. Despite having had a practice run, Kit is “terrified” of the upcoming addition to the family. Especially since it will be a surprise to their toddler.
“He’s about to get the shock of his life in the form of a brother or sister,” the Game of Thrones actor explained. “You know how you’re walking on clouds and dancing through fields and daisies for nine months with the first baby?
At least, the man is. This time, the reality check is much shorter, and you get practical quickly.”
Kit and Rose have been attempting to prepare and explain the concept of a sibling to their toddler, but he “doesn’t quite conceptually understand it just yet.”
“We’re trying to get him ready for it,” Kit continued, “and we point at Rose’s belly and say, ‘Mummy’s baby, mummy’s baby,’ and he points at his tummy and says, ‘My baby, my baby.'”
The couple married in 2018, and their first child was born in late 2020, though they never confirmed the exact date. They began dating in 2011, after meeting on the set of their hit HBO show. Rose and Kit played characters in Game of Thrones who had a passionate love affair, and their chemistry clearly brought them together.
Kit has previously spoken about being a parent, telling the Weekend Australian that it is “the most physically draining thing” he has ever done.
“Honestly, my back is messed up. “I go to the gym a lot, but there’s something about having a child that is the most physically draining,” he explained.
“I’m not sure how you do it,” he went on, referring to single parents. “Because it’s more exhausting than anything I’ve ever done on Game of Thrones.”
But all is not lost.
“I have a child, and my relationship is fantastic….
“I’m a very happy, content, sober man,” Kit said.
