Although Kourtney Kardashian and husband Travis Barker seem to be enjoying a happily ever after, insiders say that this has come at the expense of the star’s friendships and ties with her sisters, who have remained staunchly loyal to her ex-husband Scott Disick.
Travis, 48, and Kourtney, 45, began dating in 2021 and soon won over fans with their intense and widely reported relationship. The couple married the following year, first in Las Vegas, then in Santa Barbara, and finally in the picturesque town of Portofino, Italy.
Eight years after Kourtney and Scott, 41, announced their final breakup, they welcomed their baby Rocky in November 2023. Mason, 14, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 9, are the children of Kourtney and Scott.
Now, we can exclusively disclose that Travis felt “threatened” by Scott’s continued friendship with Kourtney’s family.
“Travis felt threatened by Scott when he started dating Kourtney after their protracted romance,” a source said.
“When Travis was there, it was uncomfortable for Scott to be around the family.” His weapon of choice was his persistent kissing and groping of Kourtney; he knew that this would keep Scott out of the picture, and for the time it did.
“Scott had to separate himself from the Kardashians because Travis needed Scott to understand that Kourtney was his now.”
When Kourtney first started dating Scott in 2006, their turbulent relationship was documented on the defunct E! reality show, Keeping up with the Kardashians. The couple split up several times before deciding to call it quits in 2015, amid rumors of adultery and Scott’s rehab stays.
As they figured out co-parenting, Scott stayed a regular on the show and maintained a tight relationship with Kourtney’s family. The father of three is also lovingly referred to as “Lord Disick.”
However, Kourtney and Travis’s romance was in full swing when the program changed its name to The Kardashians and moved to Hulu in 2022. Scott also disclosed that he was no longer as close to his ex, saying it had been “a huge adjustment losing her as a best friend.”
Scott and Travis both made an appearance in season one, and Kourtney was incensed that a major plot point in the show revolved around her ex’s feelings toward her engagement.
Because he didn’t want to be seen as the “villain” in his ex’s new relationship, Scott backed off in season two and only made one cameo. This infuriated fans, who insisted that Scott return.
Scott returned for season three in May 2023, following the rumored $2 million deal he inked with Kris Jenner, the 68-year-old grandmother of the Kardashians. It was evident on Instagram from the’momager’ that Scott was not going anywhere.
She stated, “Scott will NEVER be excommunicated from our family.” He is a special member of our family and the father of my grandchildren. We adore him, so this is untrue.
In season three, the whole family greeted him with wide arms and he played the part of the bad ex instead of his real self, a loving father who was an essential member of the Kardashian dynasty.
“Travis’ strategy to remove Scott from the picture completely backfired,” the source claimed.
He is aware that Scott is the object of the Kardashian family’s allegiance. The children of Kourtney and Scott are very devoted to their father and will always support Scott in any disagreement that Travis has with their father.
During an episode in 2022, Penelope seemed to be honest about her thoughts regarding her mom and step-dad’s PDA when a mother-daughter table tennis match was interrupted by Travis’s wish to kiss his wife.
“Mum, please don’t kiss,” Penelope commanded.
Later, when Travis and Kourtney began making out in front of him at the dining table, Reign also expressed his unease.

Since Kourtney started dating Travis—with whom she had been acquaintances for years before to their love relationship developing in 2021—her relationships with her sisters have also weakened.
Before, he was wed to Shanna Moakler. Alabama, 18, and Landon, 20, are the ex-couple’s children.

The 40-year-old Khloe Kardashian and her mother, Kim Kardashian, are said to be treated more like “coworkers” by the founder of Poosh than like siblings.
“After Travis entered the picture, Kourtney began to cut people out of her life, and ever since then, it has gotten worse to the point where she doesn’t seem to care about associating with anyone from her old life,” the insider disclosed.
“Kourtney no longer spends much time with Khloe and Kim outside of the show’s filming,”
She has ignored them and acts as though they are her employees. When filming the show, a lot of forced and phony stuff happens.
Additionally, Kourtney is said to have broken up with longtime pals Melissa Kolker, Allie Rizzo, Stephanie Shepherd, Brittny Gastineau, Courtenay Semel, and Sarah Howard, a Poosh employee.
One insider told DailyMail.com, “Kourtney and those girls were like sisters their whole life.” She hardly ever answers calls or texts these days.
She would frequently share pictures of herself with them on social media. She was also frequently spotted going out to bars and clubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas with them.
The girls maintain their tight relationship with other members of the Kardashian family, including Khloe’s best friend, Malika Haaq.
