A fresh fad in fashion. Growing up, the Duggar sisters were known for having a traditional appearance, but now that the majority of them are married and have their own kids, they have been experimenting with a new sense of fashion.

The reality siblings’ Growing Up Duggar book from 2014 explains why they were brought up with such stringent dress code guidelines, stating that it was due to their traditional, religious values and respecting their parents’, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s, preferences.

These days, Jinger, Jessa, Joy-Anna, Jill, and Jana have begun to diversify their personas—some more so than others.

Jinger revealed in May how, after a long period of abstinence, she had changed her mind about wearing pants. The Los Angeles resident wrote in a chapter of her new memoir, The Hope We Hold, “My mom had always dressed us girls in skirts and dresses, a standard that was taken from Deuteronomy 22:5, which says, “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment.”

She continued, “We believed that wearing skirts instead than pants was a vital aspect of being modest. Modesty was a big topic in our house. But I was interested in learning what the Bible had to say for myself.

Jill claimed in a YouTube video that she, like her sister, had changed her mind about wearing pants.

It was only when she began establishing some “healthy boundaries” with her family, according to the Counting On alum. Jill said that she, too, used to be reluctant to wear a nose ring.

She continued, “I kind of always thought they were cute. “But I believe that some of the choices we’ve made… Even if I had enjoyed something in the past, I probably would not have done it due to possible negative feedback or anything, perhaps from individuals close to me. Because I despise conflict, perhaps I should have avoided it.
