After six years together, Saoirse Ronan secretly wed Jack Lowden in a traditional Scottish wedding.
The registry of Scottish civil weddings records attested to the marriage, which took place earlier this month.
Reportedly, the ceremony took place at the Edinburgh Registrar’s Office and was small, with only a few of their closest friends and relatives there.
The actress from Scotland,34, and the four-time Academy Award nominee,30, first crossed paths in 2018 when they both costarred in Mary Queen of Scots. They were married over the weekend of July 20.
She portrayed the lead character in the movie, and her new spouse, who just assisted his high school in putting on a performance of Singin’ in the Rain, was the monarch’s spouse, Lord Darnley. In December 2018, they went on their first date.
Over the years, the couple has maintained a low profile in their relationship, even going so far as to refute any dating activity.
“Am I allowed to ask if you’re going out with the person that everyone thinks you’re going out with?” the Little Women actress was questioned by a reporter for The Telegraph in 2019.
‘No,’ Ronan replied, ending the conversation.
In an interview with ES Magazine that same year, the actor from Dunkirk declined to comment on any inquiries regarding their connection.
Oh, that’s not something I want to discuss. He added, “I don’t like talking about that side of life.”
The two were sighted at the Glastonbury Music Festival in England earlier this summer.
The Slow Horses singer posted a unique, romantic Instagram picture with his significant other.
Saoirse and Jack watched a theatrical act together while standing arm in arm and putting on quite the PDA.
Jack, who previously attended stage school in Edinburgh as a teenager and dreamed of being a football player, has gradually gained renown through appearances in local plays and Irn Bru advertisements.
He stated to the Evening Standard in 2019 that his dream was to play football. When I discovered I wasn’t going to be one, it shattered my heart.
However, he gained widespread recognition following his breakthrough performance in War and Peace in 2016 and went on to star in Mary Queen of Scots in 2018, where he eventually dated Saorise Ronan.
He most recently starred alongside Gary Oldman in the drama Slow Horses on Apple TV+.
