Prince, Michael Jackson’s son, paid tribute to his late father on the 15th anniversary of his deаth.

The singer, well known for his iconic tunes ‘Smooth Criminal’, ‘Beat It’, and ‘Billy Jean’, died suddenly on June 25, 2009, at his Los Angeles home.

The musician was preparing for a 50-date residency at London’s O2 Arena when he allegedly stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest, according to his personal doctor, Conrad Murray.Murray had just given the singer a heavy dose of propofol and benzodiazepine to treat his sleeplessness, which was deemed “irresponsible.”

When the doctor was put on trial, Dr. Steven Shafer, a Columbia University professor who also helped write the guidelines on every bottle of propofol, informed the jury that this had never happened to anyone else.

“We are in pharmacological never-never land here, something that was done to Michael Jackson and no one else in history to my knowledge,” he stated in 2011, according to the BBC.

It was eventually discovered that the star had overdosed, which, combined with the prescription, proved fatal to him.

Fans were distraught when they heard the news, and it doesn’t appear that things have improved for them over the last decade.
