Maya Jama makes first appearance in town after split from shock Stormzy on hen night
On Wednesday, Maya Jama made her public appearance wearing the ultimate retaliation outfit—her first after declaring her breakup with ex-boyfriend Stormzy.
The rapper, 30, and the Love Island host, 29, both acknowledged their breakup is “final.” They parted ways in 2019 after a five-year romance and got back in touch in August.
Maya braved her first girls’ night out in Ibiza after the breakup, pulling on a brave face.
To distract himself from their amicable divorce, Stormzy plunged himself into work as the Love Island host let her hair down.
It follows MailOnline’s revelation that Maya and Stormzy parted ways due to differences in their views on when to have children.
In a joint Instagram statement, the BRIT Award winner and the ITV2 actress revealed they had “recently decided to call it quits.”
According to insiders who spoke with MailOnline, Stormzy was eager to start a family as soon as possible, and the couple disagreed on whether to settle down.
As the face of high-end fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana, an ambassador for Rimmel London, and a highly sought-after figure on Netflix, Maya wanted to put off having children.
“Maya and Stormzy are very much on different pages when it comes to their future,” a source close to the duo disclosed.
Whereas Maya is content with her profession, driven, and eager to accomplish everything she can, Stormzy was eager to settle down and begin a family.
“At just 29, she’s not ready for the next chapter just yet. She loves to travel and party.”
The representatives of Maya and Stormzy have been approached by MailOnline for comment.
It follows Stormzy’s and Maya’s separate outings at Wimbledon last week. On Thursday, the rapper went alone to Evian’s Mountain of Youth VIP suite.
Maya, meantime, partied at the popular Chiltern Firehouse till the wee hours of the morning.
The last time they were spotted together was at Stormzy’s headline performance at the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 5.
“We’ve been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a breakup,” the couple said in a statement they shared about their breakup.

Following their breakup in 2019, the rapper said in public that he had “never loved anyone how I’ve loved her,” and fans said they had always hoped the couple would get back together.
Maya has previously discussed how the couple got together and how they didn’t feel like a famous couple because “no one cared.”
