Legendary country musician Mark Chesnutt returns to the stage

The singer of “Brother Jukebox” disclosed that, while he recovers from his most recent surgery, he will be appearing at a show in Alabama on October 9.

After undergoing emergency cardiac surgery last month, country music artist Mark Chesnutt will be making a comeback to the stage later this year.

The 60-year-old “Too Cold at Home” hitmaker announced on Tuesday, July 16, that he will return to the stage on October 9 to participate in the Songs and Stories of Dean Dillon event, which honors the member of the Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Chesnutt posted a picture of the event on Instagram along with a link for ticket purchases. The event is scheduled to take place at the Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama.

Request for comment was not immediately answered by a Chesnutt spokesperson.

The “Brother Jukebox” singer was admitted to the hospital on June 16 and underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery exactly one month later, as confirmed by a post his team made on Instagram on June 18.

The caption, which was posted with a picture of the musician pointing at the camera, said, “Mark Chesnutt, one of the most iconic country music voices of the 90s and a honky tonk mainstay for more than three decades, experienced a heart health issue over the weekend that hospitalized him Sunday evening, June 16; Mark underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery.”

“The recovery period will necessitate postponing the show dates. During this trying period of recuperation, please respect the family’s privacy,” the note at the time stated.

According to the caption, Chesnutt stated, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of my upcoming shows.”

“I look forward to seeing you all again soon at a honky tonk near you. I send my love and gratitude to my family and friends, the band, and fans for your understanding, prayers, and support,” he said.

“Hey guys, the doctor says I have a new heart! My family and I are comfortably healing at home. We enjoyed the gorgeous Texas weather and the sun while sitting on the porch today. The country singer captioned the photo, saying, “But I can’t wait to get back to pickin’ and singin’ with all my favorite fans.”

“I appreciate all of the prayers and best wishes. In my hour of need, they were invaluable and provided me with assistance. I sincerely appreciate all of you. I’ll see you shortly. He continued.

Following his announcement on Nov. 14, 2023, on Instagram that he had been suffering with “extreme health issues,” Chesnutt’s most recent posts inform followers that he will be taking a break to focus on his health and returning to the road in February 2024.
