Jodie Comer’s admirers are only now learning that she is very good friends with a superstar athlete from Team GB who is trying to bring home their first-ever gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The actress of Killing Eve, 31, and haptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, 31, who holds the British record, have an unexpected bond.
The athlete’s friend Jodie was quick to congratulate her after she won in the World Championships in Budapest last year.The actress wrote the following on social media at the time: “When you give everything to a thing.” It was a brief but lovely remark. We cherish you.
Before this year’s competition, Katarina revealed more about their friendship to The Mirror, acknowledging that Jodie and her are in “two different worlds.”
“Whenever I’m with Jodie, I don’t even think about people staring at me—I’m almost protective of her,” the gushing woman said.
Despite being born in Liverpool, Katarina’s family lived in the Bahamas for her first year of life before returning to England and settling in Halewood.
The child’s love for athletics began when she was enrolled in a nearby primary school when the Johnson-Thompson family moved back to the UK. It was also at this school that she met future BAFTA-winning actress Jodie.
The two became close while attending St. Julie’s Catholic girl’s school during their scholastic years.
After that, the two left to pursue their ambitions at different institutions. Katarina enrolled at Liverpool John Moores University to study sports science.
Even with their hectic schedules, they stay in touch and share images of themselves on social media, whether they’re at Ascot or enjoying cocktails together. They even have a humorous WhatsApp group called ‘H*s in Different Area Codes’ that they use to stay in touch.
Speaking of her Liverpool friends, including Katarina, Comer told Glamour magazine, “We’ve got a girls’ group chat.” “It’s named ‘H*s in Different Area Codes’ due to the fact that we are never in one spot at one time.” That’s why it’s always so active.
Nowadays, Jodie’s most well-known role is that of Sandra Oh’s brutal assassin Villanelle in Killing Eve.

The athlete is currently focused on winning an Olympic medal, and after two events, everything is going according to plan for the Team GB member.

Award-winning actress Jodie is also enjoying a momentous career as she prepares to star in the follow-up to the 2002 movie 28 Days Later, which will be directed by Danny Boyle again. This announcement was made in April.
