In a recent Instagram post, Jessica Simpson refutes rumors that she had resumed drinking
Claims that Jessica Simpson is back to drinking have been refuted.
The 44-year-old hitmaker From With You responded to a commenter who made assumptions about her sobriety beneath a heartfelt post for her 11-year-old son Ace in June.
‘STOP DRINKING!’ was said by a fan in the comments section after the happy mother gushed about how much they both loved scratch-off lottery tickets.
The singer-turned-entrepreneur was quick to answer, claiming that she hasn’t had alcohol since October 2017. She had previously published a picture of herself during her addiction while talking about her sobriety.
She wrote, “It has been the best decision I’ve made for myself and my family. I haven’t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017.”
“I’m grateful.” I appreciate your compassion, but I think you’ve got me completely wrong. I’m sending you love,’ she continued.
“I’m going to be a braggin’ mom for a moment and just say that I have the kindest, most handsome 11-year-old son on the planet,” was the whole caption she wrote for her son.

With her 44-year-old husband Eric Johnson, whom she married in 2014, Jessica is mother to three children: Birdie, 5, Ace, and 12-year-old Maxwell.
In the throes of her addiction, Simpson shared a “unrecognizable” old snapshot of herself on Instagram Stories last year.
The Dukes of Hazzard actress disclosed that she became sober in 2017 in her biography Open Book.
The blonde beauty is pictured in an ugly photo sitting in a dark room wearing a pink track suit, looking nothing like her normal self.
Simpson stated: ‘This person in the early morning of Nov. 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself.’ in the original description.
“I had so much self discovery to unlock and explore,” she continued. I was aware that at this precise moment, I would give myself permission to reclaim my light, triumph over my inner conflict over self-respect, and face the world with piercing clarity.
“I personally needed to quit drinking alcohol in order to accomplish this because, to be honest, it was exhausting and it kept my heart and mind racing in the same direction.” I desired to experience the agony in order to wear it as a badge of honor.
For the remainder of his life on this earth, Simpson said, “I wanted to live as a leader does, breaking cycles to move forward and never looking back with regret and remorse over any choice I have made and would make.”
I can’t believe four years have passed! It seems like two. That’s a positive thing, in my opinion. Hehe. The term “alcoholism” and the designation of “alcoholic” are so fraught with shame. My life’s true task was to come to terms with my brokenness, grief, failure, and self-sabotage.
The problem wasn’t the drinking. Yes, I was. I had no affection for myself. I had no regard for my own authority. I do now.
I’ve learned to live with my concerns and accepted the depressing aspects of my existence. I bravely and soulfully own my own authority. I am frank to the point of being comfortable. I’m at liberty.
She discussed sobriety in her memoir Open Book. “With all the drinking and pills, I was killing myself,” she remarked. Giving up the booze was simple. I felt enraged by the bottle. At the way it kept me numb and complacent.
Therapy was more difficult: “I let myself feel the traumas I’d experienced through my work.”
After assuming full ownership of the business in 2021, Jessica has spent the last several years working to rebuild the Jessica Simpson Collection.
Having secured a brand partnership with Walmart, she can now return to her greatest passion, which is singing.
When Simpson, at barely 17 years old, earned a recording contract with Columbia in 1997, she began to garner notoriety.
Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut studio album, went on to become a hit, selling over two million copies and peaked at number 25 on the Billboard 200.
The native of Abilene, Texas, released six more albums between 2001 and 2010, two of which had a Christmas theme. However, she hasn’t released any music in almost 14 years.
Simpson disclosed her ambitions to release a new album and go on tour this year in an interview for a November 2023 cover story with Footwear News. She also mentioned that she was spending time in Nashville writing new music.
Jessica has been working on her musical comeback while dividing her time between Nashville and Los Angeles.
