EXCLUSIVE: After extreme weight loss for Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy shows off his muscles in a tight T-shirt

On Thursday, Cillian Murphy flaunted his toned body as he left for the gym in preparation for the Peaky Blinders movie.

The 47-year-old Irish actor, who portrayed the lead character Tommy Shelby in the popular BBC series, flaunted his toned body as he got ready for a Dublin pump-in while sporting a gray T-shirt.

In addition, Cillian wore sunglasses, a cap, and casual tracksuit bottoms and sneakers.Compared to last year, when he underwent torturous and “unhealthy” training to get ready for his Oscar-winning performance in Oppenheimer, his new appearance was a significant departure.

In order to replicate the physicist’s “almost emaciated” physique, Cillian allegedly ate just one almond a day while playing J. Robert Oppenheimer.

However, he has resumed his fitness regimen after agreeing to be in the Peaky Blinders film, which is set to take place two years after the BBC series concluded.

Speaking earlier this year, Cillian stated of the project: “I have always said that if Knight delivers a script that I know he can deliver, because he is such a phenomenal writer, I’ll be there.”

“I’ll be there if we want to watch Tommy Shelby, who is fifty years old.” Come on, let’s do it.

The spinoff will be recorded on site in Digbeth and Small Heath as well as at the Digbeth studios in Birmingham, England.

No official release date has been given, however 2025 is thought to be the earliest for the film.

Regarding Tommy, Cillian stated, “I had a great time playing him.” It was always a journey to see him again since he was so drastically different from me and so exhausting.

“I really don’t feel sentimental about my job.” The most interesting part, in my opinion, is what comes afterward.

“And it is significant—it was a ten-year period in my life—but let’s keep moving,” is how I always feel.

A seventh season of Peaky Blinders was originally intended to take place in the midst of World War II. But after six series, the movie will now act as the series’ finale.

When Peaky Blinders debuted in 2013 it attracted parts for big-name actors like Anya Taylor-Joy and Tom Hardy and had enormous popularity both domestically and abroad.

Cillian has had to alter his physique before in order to play an actor.According to reports, he went to great measures to mimic the physicist J Robert Oppenheimer’s tiny physique, which helped him win the Best Actor Oscar.

Speaking on Cillian’s dramatic change, his co-star Emily Blunt revealed how his strict diet allowed him to survive on just one “almond a day.”

Emily, who plays his on-screen wife Kitty, talked about the “monumental undertaking” of losing weight for the part in an interview with Extra.

“I love acting with my body, and I wanted to get Oppenheimer’s physicality and silhouette right,” Cillian stated.

He was extremely thin, nearly emaciated, and survived on martinis and cigarettes. I had to shed a good deal of weight for the role, and we worked on the clothing and tailoring.

“I wanted to give him this wide-eyed look because he had these really bright eyes, so before we started, we worked a lot on his silhouette and expressions.”
