During the Rock in Rio Festival in Brazil, Mariah Carey dazzles in a bejeweled Brazilian flag outfit, just weeks after her mother and sister passed away
At the Rock in Rio Festival on Sunday at Cidade do Rock in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mariah Carey shone as she ruled the Mundo Stage.
During her main event, the 55-year-old singer of the classic song “We Belong Together” enthralled the Brazilian audience by donning a sparkling dress adorned with the country’s flag.
The glittering green, blue, and yellow outfit was figure-hugging and had a seductive side slit that reached the top of the thighs. The singer, who just lost her mother and sister, accessorized with a butterfly ring and a massive diamond bracelet. Her blonde hair was worn loosely curled down.

The night also featured performances by Akon, 51, and Shawn Mendes, 26.Several male backup dancers wearing matching white slacks and tank tops joined Mariah.
The seven-day Brazilian festival, which attracts an astounding 100,000 people annually, concluded with her performance.
The celebrity recently played to a packed house at São Paulo’s Allianz Parque, describing the event as “one of the best concerts ever.”
Carey is in Brazil with her fraternal twins, Monroe Cannon and Moroccan Cannon, who are 13 years old. She treated them to dinner at Rio de Janeiro’s Aprazível restaurant the day before.
They also allotted time to see the 125-foot-tall statue of Christ the Redeemer.
During her six-year marriage to producer-host Nick Cannon of The Masked Singer, which terminated in 2016, Mariah gave birth to her children.
Following the deaths of her mother Patricia Hickey and “ex-sister” Alison Carey Scott on August 24 at the ages of 87 and 63, respectively, she gave her most recent performance.
On August 27, the Portrait singer expressed her sorrow to People, saying she was “heartbroken” by the opera diva’s passing and felt “blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed away.”
Throughout her life, Mariah’s connection with her mother and sister was complex.
She had not spoken to Alison since 1994 and had previously claimed that when she was twelve her sister had drugged her and attempted to “sell me out to a pimp.”
In her candid memoir, Mariah said that her sister had drugged her when she was 12 years old, given her a pinky nail full of cocaine, burned her badly in the third degree, and attempted to sell her to a pimp.

According to reports, Scott later filed a $1.25 million defamation action against Carey in Manhattan Supreme Court, alleging “intentional infliction of immense emotional distress,” but the case was never successful.
Mariah is doing the best she can given the circumstances, Nick, her ex-husband, recently told Page Six. However, as a family, we simply need to be there for one another and express our love.
She is genuinely enjoying herself immensely with the children [in Brazil]. It’s amazing to watch children helping their mother in this way since, to her, that is the most important thing in the world.

Following her performance in Brazil, Mariah will embark on her 20-date Mariah Carey Christmas Time Tour, which begins on November 6 at the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in Highland, California, and will feature her five-octave soprano pipes.
In the meanwhile, Shawn wowed the crowd on Sunday by flexing his biceps in a white tank top and blue pants before Mariah joined the stage.
The Canadian singer wore several necklaces as accessories.
He was once observed picking up his guitar and strumming.
Akon took the stage as well, dressed in a white shirt and slacks underneath a long, baby blue coat.
The Clap White sneakers completed the hitmaker’s ensemble.
