Despite reports to the contrary, Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are still happy together

Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson are still going strong. A representative for the Madame Web actress tells PEOPLE that she and the Coldplay frontman have not broken up, despite headlines and speculations suggesting otherwise.

The representative remarks of Johnson, 34, and Martin, 47, “They are happily together.” The pair was most recently sighted together at the UK’s Glastonbury Festival, where Johnson was present to encourage her fiancé during his band’s headline performance.

Following a source’s report that the couple’s relationship was doing well, Johnson decided to attend Martin’s event.

The insider stated at the time, “They’ve had ups and downs, but now they’re definitely back on,” and the couple is “going strong.”

The pair was also spotted together in Helsinki two weeks prior, according to a music insider who also mentions that Johnson recently assisted in creating the music video for Coldplay’s song “feelslikeimfallnginlove.”

Following Martin’s 2016 split from ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow, the two were first seen together on a sushi date in Los Angeles, which led to their personal connection in 2017.

In 2019, Martin and Johnson upped the ante in their relationship, telling PEOPLE at the time that they were “pretty serious.”

Over the years, the couple has usually kept their connection quiet. Martin and Johnson “got engaged years ago but were in no rush to get married,” a source told PEOPLE in March.

Although Martin and Johnson are not very vocal about their relationship and only occasionally appear in public together, the artist officially dedicated his song “Universe” to his long-term partner at a Coldplay concert in October 2021.
At the time, he addressed the audience, saying, “This is about my universe, and she’s here.”

Paltrow has also publicly endorsed Johnson, telling Harper’s Bazaar in 2020 that “I love her.” Paltrow and Martin had a daughter, Apple, 20, and a son, Moses, 18.

During an Instagram Q&A in 2023, Paltrow once more showed her affection for Johnson, telling her followers, “We’re actually very good friends.” I adore her a great deal. She is a lovely and endearing individual.”
