Dad of Angelina Jolie Jon Voight escalates the acrimonious family dispute with his daughter
After tensions seemed to have subsided, Angelina Jolie’s father has rekindled their family conflict by adding fuel to the flames.
In an intense interview with Variety, 85-year-old Jon Voight asserted that his daughter’s opinions regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict have been ‘affected by anti-Semitic people’.
Angie has a relationship with the United Nations and takes pleasure in advocating for refugees. However, these folks are not displaced.
The father and daughter have a tense relationship, but they have also had many tumultuous moments that have caused them to grow apart, even if they have had times of reconciliation.
Voight, a flaming right-wing pro-Israeli, said that Voight had been exposed to misinformation. She has been impacted by anti-Semitic individuals.

However, Voight’s most recent controversial statement was made less than a month after he declared himself “proud” of Jolie and his granddaughter Vivienne following their incredible victory at the 2024 Tony Awards.
The Outsiders, a musical produced by the mother-daughter team, took home four awards, including the coveted Best Musical trophy.
The 85-year-old Oscar winner Voight told TMZ later, “I’m very proud of Vivienne.” “I’m incredibly proud of Angie because she goes above and beyond to support every child in becoming the person they want to be.”
Six children are shared by Angelina, 49, and her ex-husband Brad Pitt, 60: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and the twins, Vivienne and Knox, 15.
Voight went on to rave about the Maleficent actress, saying, “I’m sure Angie contributed with the actors and Angie’s a great director.”
In the midst of his divorce from Jolie, Pitt had a “awkward run-in” with his former in-laws earlier this year while he was at a tiny Beverly Hills gallery display.
The 60-year-old two-time Oscar winner ran across his older brother James Haven and ex-wife’s father Jon Voight while out on a date with his new girlfriend Ines de Ramon.

They happened to run into each other while perusing the Gagosian Gallery for an exhibition directed by his Moneyball collaborator, Bennett Miller.
The revelation was initially announced by Showbiz411, which revealed that Pitt and Voight had “actually hugged and spoken to each other.”
“A lot of people noticed how awkward it was that Brad was in the same room as Ange’s family, and it’s not a big space,” the eyewitness told The Sun.
One may argue that Voight’s relationship with his own daughter has been even less amicable.
Jolie apparently broke up communication with her well-known father in the early 2000s, though they did exchange brief messages while filming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in 2001.

Shortly after appearing in the Lara Croft movie, the Changeling star admitted to Vogue in 2002 that “we don’t really talk that much anymore.”
Furthermore, Voight has publicly criticized Jolie’s position on the Israel-Palestine conflict before, as seen by his remarks in Variety.
Following the events of October 7, Voight called Jolie’s anti-Israel posts “lies” and asserted that “the Israeli army must protect thy soil.”
In an early November Instagram video, he expressed his disappointment, saying, “I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God’s honor, God’s truths.”
Jolie served as the UN High Commission for Refugees’ special envoy in the past.
She charged that Israel had broken international law by “deliberately bombing children, women, and families, deprived of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid.”
Voight replied by expressing his disappointment that his daughter was unaware that Hamas’ goal was “to annihilate the land of the Jews.”
Voight went on, “This is justice for God’s children of the holy land. This is about destroying the history of God’s land, the Holy Land, the land of the Jews.”

“The Israeli army has to defend your people and your land.” We are at war. It cannot be civil now, contrary to what the left believes.
“You idiots say that Israel is the issue; you ought to examine yourself and ask, What am I?” Who am I? And ask God if I’m being misled and just following people, or if I’m discovering the truth? Truth-aware people are able to spot lies.
He said, “These animals want to wipe out Jews and Christians.” They observe that financial support for the Palestinians has not been withheld.
They received large sums of money, which they chose not to distribute to the populace. To vent their fury, they instead created weapons.
“The Israelites have compassion for others.” They treasure and love. something these animals are unable to comprehend. Justice will win out.
‘Hamas and this falsehood of their ruling is destroying their own people,’ Voight continued, urging Jolie to reconsider her stance on Israel’s involvement in the conflict.
He also praised the Jewish people for their “great heroism” in the face of numerous historical disasters, including the Holocaust and the more recent “Hamas Holocaust.”
