Celine Dion has a seizure during her battle with stiff person syndrome

Celine Dion’s latest documentary features footage of her having a seizure.

Celine Dion experienced a terrifying seizure while filming her new documentary I Am: Celine Dion, all while dealing with Stiff Person Syndrome.

The 56-year-old singer was undergoing a doctor’s examination when she began to have seizure-like symptoms while lying on the examination bed. The “My Heart Will Go On” singer was spotted in a tight posture and appeared to be uncomfortable, groaning in pain4.

Terrill Lobo, a sports medicine therapist, explained that the condition might cause contractions to remain in place if the signal to release them is not recognized.

As he assists Celine, she is shown crying and ashamed about the whole event.

“I don’t know how to express it, like, it’s just … you know, like, to not have control of yourself?” The song “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” brought back memories of that horrible event.

She went on to ask, “So, what am I going to do?… If I can’t be aroused by what I enjoy, then I’ll go onstage and, like, you’ll put the pulse oximeter on me and turn me on my back.”

Terrill replied, “It’s scary, I know. It’s hard. We all understand that this isn’t the end of your trip. But this is always a stage in that path.”
