Buying Beverly Hills, the Netflix show starring Kyle Richards’ estranged husband Mauricio Umansky, has been canceled

The reality series Buying Beverly Hills, which starred Mauricio Umansky and the real estate brokers at his company The Agency, has been canceled by Netflix.

Alongside daughters Farrah and Alexia, the 54-year-old entrepreneur and former husband of Kyle Richards appears on the show. In March, the second season of the show debuted on the streaming service.Deadline was informed by sources that viewership, not production costs, is the reason for the cancellation.

It happens after the most recent season revealed the difficulties in Kyle and Mauricio’s marriage. The difficult connection between Umansky and his brother-in-law Rick Hilton was another source of tension on the show. The Agency was founded as a result of the rift between the former company partners.

Another storyline for the second season focused on Sophia, the daughter of Kyle and Mauricio, joining the family business. In late 2022, the unscripted program made its debut.

‘I’m beyond happy to reveal that @theagencyre is debuting on Netflix in Buying Beverly Hills, coming this autumn,’ the patriarch said in a caption, promoting the series on social media at the time.My kids, @farrahbritt and @alexiaumansky, as well as a gifted group of agents from The Agency in Beverly Hills, will be appearing with me.

Richards and Umansky made light of their respective divorce settlements in a season two episode; the former couple separated in October 2023.

The 55-year-old reality TV star and the 53-year-old real estate broker were spotted joking about during season two of Buying Beverly Hills, following the announcement that they had split up after 27 years of marriage.

The real estate tycoon also acknowledged in a moment from one episode that he was too scared to inquire of his divorced wife whether or not she is seeing singer Morgan Wade, a close friend. In another clip, the parents were shown sitting down with their four daughters to discuss the news of their separation when it first surfaced in the public.

Richards started, “It’s a good idea to discuss that now that we’re all here,” adding, “Because what happened kind of caught us all off guard.”

Throughout the second season of episodes, the couple struggled with their separation; in one, Umansky acknowledged that he hadn’t had a meaningful chat with his wife in “two months.”

The couple was hitched in 1996. They have Farrah,35, Kyle’s daughter from her first marriage, Alexia,28, and Sophia,24, in addition to Portia, 16.
