Another ‘hard to watch’ 2017 interview surfaced, in which Blake Lively was accused of being ‘rude’ to a reporter AGAIN
Following the resurfacing of yet another “hard to watch” interview, Blake Lively is still receiving backlash on the internet for her supposed “mean girl” conduct.
On TikTok, videos of Lively appearing to become “triggered” by a reporter’s queries during a DP/30 interview in October 2017 have been circulating.She was at the time advertising All I See Is You, a thriller movie, which was obviously a departure from her Gossip Girl past.
When the reporter asked Lively what kinds of roles she wanted to take on “in the next five years,” things seemed to grow uncomfortable between them.
“Are you comfortable trying everything?” the reporter inquired. Lively, who in an unreleased interview referred to her Gossip Girl coworkers as “monkeys,” appeared surprised by the question and then appeared to roll her eyes before answering, “What does that mean?”
The reporter stammered over his remarks, then said that he wanted to know if she would be open to trying something new on TV, something that would push her outside her comfort zone.
“Well, it seems like you won’t sing if you don’t think you can sing,” he said. Lively promptly brought up the fact that she ‘does sing’ in All I See Is You for the reporter.She questioned the reporter sarcastically whether he “saw the movie,” looking dissatisfied, and then she agreed to an interview. He insisted, “I saw the movie.”
After giving someone an off-screen glance, Lively grinned and informed the reporter that there will be a pop quiz at the conclusion of the interview.”Every minute of it could be a pop quiz,” he laughed nervously in response.
During another segment of the almost forty-minute interview, Lively is shown sitting with her arms crossed and displaying closed body language while she talks extensively about being a “shy person.”
Her argument was that she ‘lived’ on movie sets as a child and that her acting classes ‘[her] whole life’ enabled her to come out of her shell.Lively talked about how she “still [uses] [improvisation] in my daily life” and how she learned it during her years of taking acting school.
She oddly referred to her banter with hubby Ryan Reynolds at home as “improvisation,” for instance.
Seven years ago, a lot of fans conjectured in the DP/30 clip’s original comments section that Lively appeared ‘defensive’ and was in a ‘poor mood’ on that particular day.Others, meanwhile, thought Lively’s responses were “honest” and “down to earth.”
This week, TikTok user @c**tychanel rekindled the topic by sharing ‘rude’ portions from the interview with their followers.Supporters of Lively have charged that the Gossip Girl actress is “so ready to be triggered” at the slightest query.
Some thought the criticism of Lively’s actions was “forced” and “hateful.” “Reaching!” This hate is so fabricated, a commenter said.
One other person claimed that they ‘didn’t witness any rudeness’ from Lively throughout her exchanges with the reporter.
The most recent video of an interview with actress Lively going viral was released after award-winning journalist Kjersti Flaa said that she almost quit her work in 2016 following an agonizing interview with the actress. And a rediscovered video showed that Lively and Flaa had a “uncomfortable” reunion just two years later.
Lively’s co-star from A Simple Favor, Anna Kendrick, with whom she was thought to be at odds, showed up for the interview. Things got off to a rough start as Lively sarcastically warned Flaa that she had just walked into “an entire therapy session” as they promoted their 2018 thriller.
Kendrick whispered tensely, “They can ‘drop’ whatever they were talking about before cameras started rolling. Lively joked, “We’ve saged the room.”
After saying “sorry” for anything, Lively starts laughing and takes up a croissant to break the ice with Kendrick.
The mother-of-four remarked, “We’re going to eat some chocolate croissants,” to which Flaa chuckled. In the opening moments of the conversation, Flaa remarks to Lively about how different their roles are in A Simple Favor, telling her that although Kendrick’s character is “very insecure,” Flaa’s character seems like “the most confident woman in the world.”
“In actuality, it’s the opposite,” laughed Kendrick. Blake is someone I have to keep telling over the phone, “It’s okay, you’re good at giving interviews.” I swear that people respect and like you. Then Kendrick joked that Lively got out of bed in the morning because of her motivational speeches.
“As you can see, Anna is just an egomaniac,” Lively remarked in a tone devoid of emotion. Flaa inquired again, hoping to elicit a genuine response, whether the women were adept at complimenting themselves. Lively seemed to get a little excited about this, saying that receiving Kendrick’s compliments made her feel “good.”
The mother of four went on to acknowledge that she has confidence issues and that she used to criticize her own mother for being “so confident.” Which, in her opinion, is unfair, she thought.
Lively remarked, “They only got people to come to this press junket by bribing them with alcohol and cupcakes,” before calling the interview to a stop.
Likely informed Flaa, “There’s a lot of free stuff on your way out.” “You may charge Lionsgate for some of the furniture you take from the hotel room.”Flaa knows they are “out of time” as she tries to ask one last inquiry.Then, without making eye contact, Lively reaches to shake Flaa’s hand, and Kendrick lets out a whiny moan.
Lively responds with a complement on Flaa’s jewelry after the actress has mentioned her own.The reporter is told by Lively, “I was admiring yours right.”
This past week, Flaa posted an embarrassing video of their last encounter—titled “The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job”—on YouTube. Kjersti congratulates Lively on her pregnancy at the start of the video.
Lively responded with a caustic jab, appearing utterly unfazed by the remark. “First of all, congratulations on your little bump,” Kjersti, Content Now TV’s founder, exclaimed. “Well done on the baby bump,” Blake shot back, causing the interviewer to chuckle awkwardly.
“What’s up with my bump?” Parker got involved as well, getting up to flash her ass to the camera.Blake’s reply seemed to catch Kjersti off guard, and she sat there awkwardly while the two women giggled over their different “bumps” in unison.
And when Kjersti posed her initial query to the women, things just became worse. Kjersti questioned whether they appreciated dressing historically accurate as the film was set in the 1930s.
However, Blake objected to the question, and just as Parker was ready to respond, she said, “I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes? Everyone wants to talk about the clothes.”
“I swear,” Kjersti said. Once more, the women began conversing with one another instead of Kjersti, sharing their admiration for certain male character clothes from the film. The awkward interview continued for a few more minutes, ending with a dejected Kjersti.
The most awkward interview scenario I have ever had was sitting down with Blake Lively and her co-star Parker Posey for Cafe Society, the actress captioned.
“Is it improper to wish someone a happy pregnancy or to inquire about the clothes a woman is wearing in a movie?” The resurrected conversation swiftly gained widespread attention and provoked strong criticism of Lively, whose alleged dispute with Justin Baldoni has dominated news reports for the past week.
