All of the famous people who have urged Biden to withdraw following George Clooney’s “heartbreaking”
President Biden is being urged by an increasing number of powerful celebrities to resign from office and not run for reelection.
This is because there is growing doubt about the president’s eligibility for a second term and his ability to defeat Donald Trump following his disastrous debate performance.
George Clooney, a Democrat for life, was the most recent famous person to call on Biden to withdraw from the race in an explosive op-ed published in the New York Times on Wednesday.

Only a few weeks prior, the well-known actor was spotted with Biden at a fundraiser for the president’s reelection campaign.
He now joins a growing chorus of eminent figures from the Democratic-dominated entertainment sector who are demanding the nomination of a new party to challenge Trump this autumn.
Political strategists are dubious about the influence celebrity endorsements have on political campaigns, but Clooney’s op-ed, which describes his personal encounter with Biden from last month, is persuasive enough to warrant Biden’s resignation.
“It is heartbreaking, truly heartbreaking,” stated veteran Obama advisor David Axelrod.
Clooney is hardly the only famous person who has urged Biden to resign who has recently been in close quarters with him.
The Democratic celebrities urging Biden to withdraw are all listed below:

George Clooney
The New York Times quoted actor George Clooney as saying that while he loves Joe Biden, the party needs a new nominee. Clooney was the star of a June 15 fundraiser held in Los Angeles.
“The Joe Biden I was with at the fund-raiser three weeks ago was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010—and that’s devastating to say.” Not even the Joe Biden of 2020 was he. Clooney wrote, “He was the same man we all saw at the debate.”
Clooney asserted that in private, lawmakers he has spoken with support him, regardless of what Democratic senators say in public.
“Joe Biden is a hero; he saved democracy in 2020,” the actor said in closing. He must repeat the action in 2024.
Rob Reiner
Biden’s resignation has also been demanded by filmmaker Ron Reiner.
It’s time to stop f***ing around, the director and producer, who is nominated for an Oscar, wrote on X on Sunday. Our democracy will be lost if the convicted felon prevails. Joe Biden has served the United States honorably, decently, and with dignity. Joe Biden needs to stand down now.
In a different Wednesday tweet, the creator of When Harry Met Sally praised Clooney for his outspoken remarks.
“We love and respect Joe Biden,” he wrote as well. We are grateful for what he has done for our nation. However, there is an existential threat to democracy. Someone younger is needed to retaliate. Joe Biden needs to resign.

Cusack, John
For a while now, John Cusack has been causing trouble.
The actor, who has been critical of Biden’s approach to Gaza, stated that he concurs with Reiner’s request that Biden resign on July 8.
“There has been no bigger supporter of Biden’s domestic policy than Rob—he’s right,” Cusack wrote in a repost of Reiner on X.
Mia Farrow
Actress and campaigner Mia Farrow wrote, “It’s time to pass the torch,” in a brief post on X.
If not, “we will lose the Senate, the House, and our Democracy,” she threatened.
In a subsequent post on X, Farrow stated that she would support Biden in the event that he did not resign, but she also claimed that “he is losing.” We can never, ever give Trump our nation.
She remarked, “I hope he nominates another brilliant Democrat who will carry on Joe Biden’s great accomplishments—and win.”
Stephen M. King
On Monday, author Stephen King demanded that Biden withdraw from the contest.
“Joe Biden has done a great job as president, but it’s time for him to declare he will not seek reelection—in the best interests of the America he so obviously loves,” King wrote on X.

Michael A. Moore
Michael Moore, a documentary filmmaker, begged Joe Biden to withdraw from the race on his podcast.
Moore, a leftist 70-year-old, lauded Biden’s first-term record despite his criticism of some of his initiatives and maintained that Biden should step down to stop Trump.
Moore wrote on X that by giving up the contest, he would be contributing to the election of the first female president. He remarked that Biden must “do the right thing” and that Vice President Kamala Harris will finish the task.
Colbert, Stephen
Only months after he moderated a discussion with Biden and former presidents Obama and Clinton at a New York City fundraiser in late March, late-night star Stephen Colbert advocated for Biden’s resignation in his opening monologue this week.
Colbert stated on his show that “self-sacrifice takes a particular kind of courage, and that is a courage I believe Joe Biden is capable of.”
“I think he is a decent enough man and a decent enough president to prioritize the needs of the nation over his own ego,” he went on.
“And for the greater good, it may be best to pass on leadership to a younger generation, as painful as that may be.”

Comedian Jon Stewart Though he refrained from explicitly urging Biden to withdraw from the race, Jon Stewart took aim at the president and Democrats on Monday when they resisted his requests.
Steward yelled that four months is “forever,” slamming ideas that Biden should step aside because it’s too near to election day.
While he clarified that he was not advocating for Biden to withdraw, he raised the issue, “Can’t we stress test this candidacy? Is it not possible for us to start talking?
