After Jane’s Addiction’s onstage altercation after their reunion gig goes viral, fans make amusing predictions about Oasis
Fans of Jane’s Addiction are amusing themselves by laughing at the on-stage antics of guitarist Dave Navarro and singer Perry Ferrell during Friday’s Boston performance.
The lead singer approached Navarro, shoved him, got in his face, and even threw a punch before a crew member could step in and break up the altercation. The video of the altercation went viral online.
Fans likened the altercation to the shenanigans of another band that is notorious for having strained relationships. Navarro had to be removed out.
One fan on X joked, re-sharing the video, “Jane’s Addiction is giving everyone a preview of what the reunion shows for Oasis will be like.”
As the lights went down, numerous crew members exited the stage. Another was “Oasis Reunion Tour Prequel starring Jane’s Addiction.”
A commentator made a joke, saying, “Glad to see the Oasis, sorry, Jane’s Addiction reunion is going well.” Supporters argued for canceling the remainder of the reunion tour on Instagram.
“Please cancel the remaining dates of the tour; this is not how Jane’s legacy should be honored.” especially considering how long it took Dave to recover and become his amazing self again. One admirer said, “Perry, we love you. Find some help and your personal REDEMPTION.”
Another person cried, “ANGRY OLD FARTS FIGHTING ONSTAGE IS PATHETIC!!!!!”
Others expressed dissatisfaction with Perry’s performance at earlier events.
After seeing the September 3 performance, one disgruntled fan tweeted, “Saw the Raleigh show last night… Perry F was so intoxicated that the show was easily the worst concert I’ve ever been to.” They also added, “Can’t believe I paid $167 for that “performance.”
Etty Lau, the spouse of Farrell, shared her husband’s version of events on Instagram. Although she acknowledged that there had been “tension and animosity between the bandmembers,” she believed that this was also “the magic that made the band so dynamic,” thus it wasn’t necessarily a terrible thing.
At the Boston event, Lau said her singer husband was disturbed because he was ‘drowned out’ by his bandmates’ excessively loud playing, which she claimed went on for a few songs until he ‘lost it.’
After the fight became viral, she stated, “Instead of speculating, I thought to post a first person account of what happened on stage.”
However, Lau said on Friday night that her spouse had had enough after being heckled by inaudible supporters. She asserted, “He was screaming to be heard; he wasn’t singing.”
The group will perform on Sunday night in Hartford, Connecticut. Following the band’s first reunion in 14 years earlier this year, the Boston performance was a part of a reunion tour.
