After Billie Eilish’s verse on Charli XCX’s Guess remix was called out as “predatory,” her brother Finneas defended her
Finneas, Billie Eilish’s brother, stood up for her after someone on TikToker called her verse on Charli XCX’s remix for Guess “predatory.”
A verse by 22-year-old Billie was played briefly on social media by a user going by the handle @windows199x, who also included a long caption.
The commenter stated, “Y’all are blinded by Billyie’s usual queerbaiting for commercial gain, but her verse on Guess is highkey predatory.”
‘Ever since the Lost Cause controversy, she’s been trying to convince the public that she’s truly into girls by treating them like inanimate objects,’ it was said. FYI, Charli is 32 years old and engaged.
The 27-year-old Finneas responded by saying, “What a take, you little clown,” in the comments.
For a whole year, I got to witness the entire internet condemn my sister for queer-baiting, even though in actuality, you were all pressuring her to come out and get a label.
After the user removed the comment, someone said, “You deleted Finneas’ comment because you KNOW he’s right.” like, really, grow up and get a grip.
Echoing the idea, a second individual wrote, “Okay bro deleted Finneas’ comment because he knows Finneas is right.” Dude, all you post on here is hate. Grow up and engage in different activities.
On Thursday, Billie and Charli released their controversial collaboration, much to the pleasure of their fans.
In the video, Eilish makes a theatrical entry by riding in on a tractor during a lingerie-filled home party.
‘I wanna test it, bite it, kiss it, spit it/ Pull it to the side and get all up in it / Kiss it, bite it, can I fit it?’ raps the Ocean Eyes hitmaker on the Guess remix. Charli knows I’d hit it, but she likes boys.
“If Charli wasn’t okay with Billie’s verse, she would’ve never released it,” said another supporter of Eilish.
Following the song’s release, ardent fans took to YouTube and X to share their excitement, proclaiming that the “iconic” song was “life changing” and “history being made.”
“We all ate dinner that Charli and Billy just served,” a supporter yelled.
Similar accusations of queerbaiting, or exploiting same-sex aspects to appease the LGBTQ+ movement, were brought against the singer-songwriter Bad Guy in 2021 when she displayed sensuality with women in her Lost Cause music video.
She hadn’t openly recognized as a member of the LGBTQ community at the time.
She did, however, confess to Variety in November 2023 that she is drawn to women.
Later, she claimed that the publication had “outed” her.
She posted, “I like boys and girls,” on Instagram in response to the rumors around her sexual orientation. Please leave me alone about that,’ I said, “Who cares?”
Billie reiterated her stance in an April Rolling Stone interview.
She was reported in the story as saying, “I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand — until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina.”
She said in another place in the profile, ‘Who the f***ing cares? I had no say or control over who I was suddenly decided to be by the entire world.
“I believe that there is a lot of wanting labels everywhere, and nobody should be forced to be one thing or the other.”
“Dude, until they are in their forties, fifties, or sixties, I’ve known people who don’t know their sexuality or feel comfortable with it.” Finding oneself takes time, and she said, “I think it’s really unfair how the internet bullies you into talking about who you are and what you are.”
