79-year-old Björn Ulvaeus gets married a third time! A bakeoff star, Sandi Toksvig, officiates the ‘extra special’ Copenhagen wedding between an ABBA singer and 51-year-old Christina Sas
Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA married his girlfriend of two years on Saturday, and Sandi Toksvig, host of The Great British Bake Off, officiated the ceremony. This was Ulvaeus’s third marriage.
In Copenhagen, the 79-year-old Swedish musician tied the knot with his 51-year-old Danish partner Christina Sas in front of intimate friends and family.

Björn took to Instagram to share his good news, posting several pictures from the “extra special” day in which Christina looked gorgeous in a khaki outfit. “Today, on September 21, 2024, Björn Ulvaeus married Christina Sas from Herning, Denmark,” the post on his Instagram said.
“They began dating in the spring of 2022 after meeting in Nürnberg in 2021 in connection with the release of ABBA’s final album, Voyage.”
In front of intimate friends and family, the wedding took place in Copenhagen.
“The evening was made even more special by the gracious performances of Sandi Toksvig, Anne Linnet, and Kaya Brüel.”
Presenter Sandi, 66, wore red priest robes for the event. She and Björn became friends while they worked together on Mamma Mia: The Party! in 2018.

“We have dated for a while and I felt like I wanted to take her to this event,” Björn and Christina said to reporters during their first public appearance together in June 2022. Thus, this is our first date night together.
The couple first got together while Christina was employed by German record company Universal, which put out the ABBA album Voyage in 2021.

The following year, he declared the dissolution of his 41-year marriage to 75-year-old music writer Lena Kallersjo, his second wife.
Björn and Lena, who have two daughters, Emma, 42, and Anna, 38, published a joint statement in February 2022 announcing their breakup and their agreement to equally divide their £100 million assets between them.
“We have decided to go our separate ways after many wonderful and eventful years,” it said.
“We will still celebrate our grandchildren’s birthdays and other family holidays together; we are still close friends.”
Bjorn was wed to Agnetha Faltskog, his bandmate and first wife, from 1971 until 1979.

After ABBA got back together, they spent more time together and had children together, Linda, 49, and Peter, 44.
When she first met Björn, who was then a popular folk group member and five years her senior, she was barely 19 years old.

Two years later, in 1971—the year before Abba was founded—they got married. A week after they split up, Björn began seeing Swedish TV host Lena.
The pair got together at an ABBA bandmate Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad’s house for a New Year’s celebration.
While Agnetha and Björn initially referred to their split as a “happy divorce,” Agnetha subsequently said that she had felt “mangled” and that she had need counseling.
The song The Winner Takes It All immortalized the sorrow of the breakup, and many fans have questioned throughout the years whether Björn was being intentionally cruel when he asked his ex-wife to sing the heartbreaking line, “Tell me does she kiss like I used to kiss you?”

‘I’m 75, and I can’t manage more than four times a week,’ Bjorn admitted in an interview with the Guardian’s Weekend magazine in 2020, giving an open account of his sex life.
